National Business Awards for Scotland Finalists |
|
Horisk and The Robert Gordon University (RGU) were shortlisted for the Atos Origin Award for e-Enablement at The National Business Awards for Scotland for their RoomOnline student accommodation management application. The award winners were announced at a gala dinner at the Glasgow Hilton in September. RoomOnline manages the student accommodation process at the University. The latest in a series of e-enablement projects at RGU, it integrates into existing systems to provide a streamlined user experience, incorporating: an automatic checking process for all applicants, a simple, tailored application form, and the ability to view details of the accommodation offered and make payments online. An extensive backend administration system allows staff to track applications, allocate accommodation, make accommodation offers and report on the process. Ian Webster, Accommodation and Catering Manager at RGU stated that, “The end result is a service which provides a much improved student experience of the process, while cutting the number of manual administration tasks for staff, allowing them to spend more time on individual student contact and strategic projects.” The aim of The National Business Awards for Scotland is to reward and recognise excellence, best practice and innovation throughout the Scottish business community. Judges will be looking for evidence of three key guiding principles in all categories: commercial success, innovation in performance improvement, and ethics in respect of legislation, regulation, the environment and the rights of all stakeholders.
